WAR! what is it good for? well, making money, making history and good old problem solving.
wars are useful things beyond the needs of conflicting nations. people have used wars to sell products otherwise unwanted by the public, in the past the U.S. would sell war bonds, pins, stupid stickers and ribbons (that dont save anyone), along with all kinds of war paraphernalia. a war can be portrayed as a civil duty, something YOU MUST DO, so of course you do it (you yourself war against a nation's entire army), and you do this from your living room. you watch the war tv shows the warr movies and commercials, you buy the war products, you know the ones that "save the troops" and "kill the bad guys". everyday, even by opposing a war you are supporting it. this is how a war becomes a commodity. the way a war is remembered is denfenitly not shaped by the way the way the soldiers in it faught. it is remembered through, the news reports, magazine and news articles, tv and radio shows and films, basically th emedia. the media's representation of a war makes its legacy. we remember vietnam as a masssacre, a sick and vile occurance, world war two, as a tragedy, who valiant heroes went into with hot rifles and destroyed all the earth's tyranny. why were these so different? why were WW2 soldiers cannonized while soldiers who participated in the vietnam war cursed the moment they touched vietnamese soil? the media made it this way.

the future seems grim
has anyone ever seen an episode of "yo gabba gabba"? the future really seems grim with television shows like this teaching kids to "party party' in their "tummies" they are not only going to grow up without being able to verbalize their feelings properly and completly. seriously watch an episode on you tube or something, its eally bad. but allthings aside its weird how i cant look away sometimes it gets kind of scary sometimes.

thegreenguide.com is a great site it gives details on how to shop in order to be green. one thing that came to mind is that if you dont want to wear hemp or linen, lets say your into high fashion the least you can do is look at which houses are doing what and what they support. or you can always look for free-trade items or union made garments.

between today and tommorrow i have decided to change all of the lightbulbs in the house. its just going to kinda suck at night with the dim lighting. but all inconviniences aside you must go green, the greates inconvinience wiil come out of not trying.

when entering Goetsman hall of planet earth it was evident that they really did know how to display their stuff. there were a number of specimens of minerals and rocks, all varying in physical appearance. They kept the talking screens to a minimum.The screens that were on were the ones who had information about the negative effects of global warming and how we are causing them and we could possibly stop them.
the exibit, An Inconvinient Truth, the theme of the cluster all go hand in hand. all of the information we saw at the museum was in the film and the means by which they choose to channel their message is a large area of research in this class. i could see why the museum would be more believable than the film. its a standing structure that you go to and touch and see with your very eyes. it is an institution whhere people work in everyday , i get why people could believe it over a film. personally i believed them both completly i am a big supporter of any action taken towards the reduction of CO2 emmisons and minimalization of global warming. the museum definatly is a media though, any museum is. the trick is, like i was saying before, since its a building with what everyone considers to be factual science (and 90% is), people forget that all they are doing is showing you information and messages just like any t.v. or radio would. although the museum's message is probably a lot better.

hidden powers.
ok. gnosticism and the matrix. they are very closly tied. gnosticism dictated that humans are divine souls trapped in a physical encasing (our bodies), and that we must break from his and that the only way to restore ourselves to our previous, divine self is through aqcuiring knowledge and meditation. we were put here because of (gnosticism has many different explanations and versions but this is the basic idea), a not necesaraly evil but foolish divine power and its actions. we were left here to break free from our imprisonment. tell me where this doesnt sound like the matrix. the divine souls; our free conciousness. the breaking free through acquiring of knowledge; learning the truth abut humans and the matrix. put here because of a foolish act; the creation of AI and the scorching of the sky (which scorching of the sky already carries a wide variety of religious connotations). yes they're a lot alike. i obtained all my information from the wikipedia article and my previous knowledge of the matrix.

when studying the allegory of the cave with "matrix" colored glasses its easy to see many, many connections. beggining with the prisoners being the humans grown in the fields. the shadows on the wall would be the matrix. the shackles and restraints would be the dependance on the lie and the comfort of what is known. the puppeteers would be the machines. the prisoner that leaves would be the man born inside the matrix. i obtained 100% of my information off of the wikipedia article and my knowledge of the film. its pretty col ho wit all ties up.
